We would enjoy finding a way for you to get involved with more than our projects. We need MMR Advocates. It's a little selfish, but we need YOUR help. We feel that MMR is a unique way to be involved in participating in God's agenda. You get to actively be an important piece of strategy among those who have never heard. Not many short-term opportunities provide that. MMR is a small group. Your help in getting the word to others is extremely important to us. We have several on-going needs that you are in a key position to help with. There are seven main ways that you can be an Advocate for MMR. You can choose one or assist in all six. Please truly consider if there is a way for you to help.
Direct Financial Support - the first and most obvious way that you can be an advocate of MMR is to donate directly to the work of MMR. Without MMR, many of these projects would never happen. Each project is an opportunity to open the door to disciples made and churches planted. Imagine if MMR had to close its doors because it could not meet it's financial responsibilities. Would that negatively impact fieldwork? In faith, we believe that God will meet all of our needs. You may be an avenue that He chooses to meet those needs. Consider giving a donation directly to MMR. Even $10 or $20 is a blessing.
Recruit - every single year, MMR has more projects requested than we can fill. The reason is that our small staff can’t spend enough time recruiting teams to fill all of the projects asked of us. If you would be interested in helping MMR recruit teams for the project that you just participated in, for another project, or for any project, please
contact us.
We can provide resources and training to bring you even further into the MMR family. We need partners that help us fill these projects. At MMR, we view every project as a chance to see disciples made and churches planted. Every project we can fill puts people in positions to see God do amazing things. Imagine if we could fill 35 projects in a year instead of 20 all because volunteers decide to join us in seeing this happen. We believe this can happen, but it will take the help of you to see it happen.
Champion MMR to Your Church - another way to support MMR is to be our champion to your church. Many friends of MMR desire to give more financially, but due to current life situations may not be able to. We understand this. Consider doing what many MMR supporters have started doing. Go to your church's missions committee or missions funding process and request that your church assist in providing funding to this needed organization. We're willing to help provide you with printed and electronic materials to assist you. MMR staff can be available to speak with your church's mission funding process as well. Contact us for more information.
Host an Event - consider hosting an MMR information dinner, prayer event, or fund raiser. Whether in your home, a fellowship hall, or restaurant, hosting an MMR information event can be of tremendous help. It can be lavish or just coffee and tea.
Contact us for resources if you would be interested.
A prayer event is a great way to engage your church or other mission minded people. There are two primary prayer events that MMR has put together.
The first is called House of Prayer for the Nations. You can find resources for this on our web site or contact MMR. The idea is that within a house or defined area, there are five stations of prayer set up for least reached peoples. We have produced posters that you can have printed with pictures and prayer information on them, or simply print the elements of each poster and mount them to poster board yourself. Each person enters the area in posture of prayer (without shoes or with other cultural differences from the people group) and spends ten minutes at each station. After 50 minutes, the participants come together to pray collectively for 10 minutes. You can end the time together with a cultural tea time.
The second event is a women’s prayer tea. This particular event currently has a Muslim focus. Women can come together and have a Muslim cultural tea and have the opportunity to pray through a prayer bracelet with beads that will help you focus on understanding Muslim culture and prayer needs. Please contact us for more information on any of these events.
Fund raisers are highly appreciated. With the small staff that MMR has, we are dependent upon the generosity of others. If you believe MMR is an organization worth assisting with a fund raiser and would be willing to host one,
contact us. We would appreciate the opportunity to work together with you to see this happen.
Pray - beyond the prayer events, prayer itself is one of the truly best ways to help least reached peoples. In David Garrison’s book Church Planting Movements, one of the 10 items that all church planting movements had in common was consistent prayer. MMR would like to organize and assist a schedule of constant prayer for the areas where we work. If you would like to participate and/or recruit others in this type of prayer effort,
please let us know.
Speak - for those who have been on an MMR project, consider being a speaker. because MMR is so short-handed in staff, we can’t always be everywhere at once. If you would be willing to be a speaker for MMR, please let us know. There are many times where our staff cannot be in certain areas, but if you were in that area and willing to share your story and experience of MMR, it would be a tremendous way for you to join us in our efforts. We can provide you with tools and resources to do this. Please let us know by
contacting us with information about your willingness to participate.
We will work with you to be as involved in an area as you desire to be. Some of our volunteers now recruit their own teams and stay in constant contact with field personnel. Some volunteers are even seen as field “team members”. If you’d like to get that involved, we will assist you in getting there. MMR desires to multiply itself as a mobilization entity. We’re more than happy to help equip you and train you to be a mobilizer.
We will always need volunteers that can help field personnel advance their Kingdom strategies.
